Long BioThane-Rope Reins
Horse & Ropes long reins promote better communication with your horse thanks to their light weight and easy grip. They will be a long-lasting companion for your groundwork.

These long reins are designed with our 6.5 mm diameter polyester rope, specially developed by Horse & Ropes.
For optimal comfort, we have chosen genuine 16 mm wide Beta BioThane. Unlike nylon, this webbing does not tangle and offers much easier maintenance than leather.
Thanks to their lightness, our long reins guarantee precise communication with the horse.
All components of our long reins (ropes, carabiners, and BioThane) are detachable, offering great flexibility of use. This allows you to easily adapt them to all surcingle ring sizes.
It is also possible to completely remove the rope to use only the BioThane, thus reducing the rein length by 4.40m, or to add an additional BioThane piece to have different sizes. Finally, in case of wear, only the damaged component can be replaced, thus limiting waste and avoiding having to repurchase the entire set of reins.
Many of you find off-the-shelf long reins too long (15 or 16m), which is why we offer 2 sizes of long reins: 9 and 14m (total length). 2 lengths adapted to your practice and the size of your horse.
The length of the BioThane varies depending on the total size. Each rope measures 2m20 regardless of the selected size.

We offer 2 sizes with a total length of:
- 9m: for groundwork behind the horse. This length is suitable for working with Shetlands and small ponies on the lunge.
- 14m: for lungeing at all 3 gaits. This traditional length is more versatile and requires learning how to handle the equipment.

Unlike leather, BioThane is very easy to maintain. A simple wipe with a damp sponge is enough to revive the color of your strap.
The BioThane and rope set can be rinsed with water and then wiped with a cloth.
