A good lunge line is made of a braided, dense, and round rope. A rope that allows for safe learning and precisely transmits the rider's requests to the horse.
The Horse & Ropes rope meets all these criteria. It will allow you to develop fluid and precise communication. Supple and resistant, our lunge line is a true asset for respectful horse training.
The 3.70m length is ideal for working close to your horse. It allows you to establish the foundations of movement (forward, backward, shoulder and hindquarter yields) and perform desensitization exercises. It is also suitable for sending the horse out on a circle at walk and trot, and can be tied to serve as reins.

For a 3.70m lead rope, we recommend two snap hooks:
- The safety snap hook
: the traditional snap hook for training ropes, allowing for quick release of the horse's head from a lead hold. This snap hook is heavy (170g), an asset for the initial stages of horse training. - The trigger snap hook is a classic, practical, and easy-to-use snap hook with moderate weight.
It is also possible not to use a snap hook; the lead rope is then tied directly to the halter. This has the advantage of weighing less, however, there will be no break point for the halter and lead rope assembly. For this use, we recommend adding a safety hook, the hookilpenn, available at this link. The hookilpenn deforms and breaks in case of excessive tension on the equipment.
All snap hooks on our lead ropes are removable allowing you to easily change snap hooks according to your needs and to remove it for machine washing your lead rope.
In the event that the snap hook breaks, you can replace it without buying a new lead rope. You can find snap hooks sold individually at this link.

To remove sand from the quarry, nothing beats a horse shower with a bit of pressure.
You can also hand wash your lead rope with soapy water or machine wash it on a short, delicate 30°C 30-minute cycle by placing the lead rope in a laundry net without the snap hook, then in a full washing machine.
Remember to grease your snap hook using lithium grease or WD40 white lithium grease, especially for the safety snap hook mechanism.
It is important to clean and nourish the leather popper for good durability.
